"Hot yoga" (aka Bikram or Moshka yoga): "Hot yoga" uses temperatures over 100 degrees F in an effort to loosen up muscles and help the body sweat out any impurities. The temperatures in India say at or near this level several months out of the year, so it's easy to see how an entire discipline could have developed based on the heat. When it comes to yoga, this is one of the most intense workouts and is not meant for anyone with heart conditions or any other sensitivity to heat.
Hatha-Hatha yoga is a gentle workout that incorporates stretching with breathing exercises. In addition to beginners, Hatha yoga is very helpful for older adults or others for whom intense workouts are difficult. It is great for relaxation and, like many other forms of yoga, could probably be incorporated into a spiritual practice. Hatha yoga can be done in most any environment as long as you have access to smooth, flat ground for the lying-down poses.
